During my service in the U.S. Army, I deployed to multiple locations worldwide. While deployed we used Black Hawk helicopters and HELLFIRE® Missiles in support of contingency missions and combatant commander’s orders. Being an employee with Moog I am now aware that Moog provides pitch trim actuators, vibration control actuation systems, hydraulic accumulators and actuation/control electronics for the Black Hawk and HELLFIRE Missiles. It is great to be part of a team that had a direct impact on my time in service and returning home. I am proud to help with bringing home current and future service members.

During the time I served in the U.S. Navy I was deployed to The Persian Gulf after the attack on 9/11. While deployed we used nuclear-powered fast-attack submarines (SSNs) to help complete missions such as Operation Enduring Freedom and The Global War on Terrorism. Being an employee with Moog I am now aware that Moog provides all of the main actuators for the submarines’ hydraulics system, enabling the submarine to be silent and lethal anywhere in the ocean at any time. It is great to be part of a team that helped keep me and my country safe, and to be able to continue the fight from the home front. You might often hear a submarine veteran say “Pride Runs Deep”. You don’t get that kind of pride without the support of dedicated hard working people like you have here with Moog.

I spent time deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan as an Armament/Avionics/Electrical Technician in the U.S. Army while I worked on armed Black Hawks (DAPs) configured with HELLFIRE® Missiles. It is amazing to see the quality of work that comes from the people at Moog which was incorporated on the Black Hawk and the actuation section of the HELLFIRE Missiles. These components and the mentality of all involved in the production process were a vital piece in ensuring our mission success. I feel fortunate to be able to bring the lessons and skills that were developed while serving in the Army to the Moog team by supporting our IDS office with multiple armed platforms and the RIwP team through testing and fielding our products with our soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen still in uniform.

I served in the U.S. Air Force at Wright-Patterson AFB supporting the requirements, development, and procurement stages of aircraft and communication systems. This included the C-17 which may have carried service members to their deployment location or help them return safely to their family. As a Moog engineer my work turns requirements into actuation controls, steering the KC-46 tanker boom and Patriot III missile. Prior to their fielded uses, we qualify them through extreme thermal, shock, vibration, and other stressful conditions verifying they will successfully support the mission at hand and help service members return home. It is rewarding to continue to contribute to the success and safety of our service men and women.

During my service in the U.S. Army, I deployed to a small town called Crailsheim in West Germany. While deployed there we used Patriot and Lance Missile Systems and flew on Black Hawk helicopters to help protect West Germany and NATO. Being an employee with Moog now, I am aware that we provide the flight control systems for those platforms. It is a humbling and awesome feeling now to know that I am part of a team that had a direct impact on my time in service and returning home. I am proud to help with bringing home current and future service members.

During my service in the U.S. Navy, I was stationed on a Los Angeles class submarine and was a part of 3 deployments. Many years later as a Moog employee I learned that Moog provided the SUBSAFE actuation for many systems on board the submarine, as well as the tail cones for the MK-48 torpedoes. Looking back, I remember how my wife felt sitting on the pier waiting for me to return home and it is truly exciting to be part of a team that continues to support submariners with equipment that makes sure they come home too.

Many years ago while serving in the U.S. Army, I deployed to Germany, Turkey, Kuwait, and Haiti. I led a team of EH60 Black Hawk pilots, crew chiefs, linguists, and analysts to intercept enemy radio chatter and locate the transmitters. Being a Moog employee, I am now aware that Moog provides the roll and pitch and boost actuators for the Black Hawk, that made it possible to fly smoothly with steady and flawless trim control. It is outstanding to now work with the brilliant and talented people who make this technology possible and the company who helped ensure we all came home. I am proud to help with bringing home all who serve. Hoo-ah!

During my service in the U.S. Navy I deployed to multiple oceans and seas. While deployed we used a Los Angeles Class Submarine to help support and defend democracy around the world. Being an employee with Moog I am now aware that Moog provides parts for the MK-48 ADCAP Torpedoes for LA Class Submarines. It is great to be part of a team that had a direct impact on my time in service and retuning home. I am proud to help with bringing home current and future service members

During my service in the U.S. Air Force, I was deployed to RAF Upper Heyford, United Kingdom. While deployed we used F-111 aircraft to help support the Desert Shield and Desert Storm activities in the Middle East . Being an employee with Moog I am now aware that Moog provided avionics components for the attack radar systems. It is great to be part of a team that had a direct impact on my time in service and returning home. I am proud to help with bringing home current and future service members.

While serving in the U.S. Navy, I participated in missions such as Operations Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, and Unified Assistance. We frequently used Sea Hawk helicopters to provide over-the-horizon surveillance and early warning, anti-surface and sub-surface warfare capabilities, and logistical support. The Sea Hawk was instrumental in our ability to provide humanitarian relief to the victims of the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami. I am now aware that Moog provides vibration controls and flight control systems, integrated trim/boost servo actuator assemblies, and slip rings for the Sea Hawk. It is great to be part of a team that had a direct impact on my time in service and returning home. I am proud to help with bringing home current and future service members.

While serving in the U.S. Navy during the Cold War, I was lead Petty Officer in the chemical warfare department, which was responsible for the ships countermeasures and damage control. These duties also involved being a part of the flight crash crew and at sea fire party. The work horse of the Navy back then was the SH-3 Sea King, we landed many of those on our small flight deck, as well as the CH-46 Sea Knight. Today Moog provides servo valves for the CH-47 Chinook. I am proud to be a part of a team that continues to help with bringing home current and future service members.

During my service in the U.S. Marine Corps I deployed to multiple locations in the Middle East and Africa. While deployed, I served as a MV-22 Osprey pilot in support of combat assault support missions throughout Iraq and Syria. During a postflight inspection I noticed the “Moog Inc.” label on the swashplate actuator and learned that Moog makes the swashplate actuators as well as other components on the MV-22 Osprey. Being an employee with Moog, I am honored to be part of a team that plays a pivotal role in allowing current and future servicemembers to complete their mission in harms way and return home safely.
