The Moog service valve design is a direct-acting, mechanically actuated device.  The primary metal-to-metal seal provides leak-tight control for propellant or pressurant.  Secondary redundant seals are provided by the combination of two dynamic stem seals, and by the fitting cap.  A mechanical stop is provided to limit the opening stroke of the valve.  An optional external cover is available that provides a tertiary seal, and protects the valve stem from potential handling damage, and or can provide a barrier to accidental cross connections.
