East Aurora, NY, USA, May 17, 2024 – Moog Inc. (NYSE: MOG.A and MOG.B) today received U.S. Food U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance of the Industrial segment’s CURLIN 8000 Ambulatory Infusion System. This premium infusion platform was developed specifically for use in home infusion settings.
The CURLIN 8000 is an all-new multi-therapy ambulatory infusion system that was designed to meet the specific requirements unique to home infusion. The CURLIN 8000 combines a reliable and robust design with a simple, intuitive user interface designed for easy navigation by both clinical and non-clinical users. The CURLIN 8000 provides industry-leading resolution and continuity of flow performance, ensuring that infusions are delivered precisely as the pharmacist intended.
The CURLIN 8000 also integrates seamlessly with CURLIN RxManager, a completely new medication safety software developed to complement existing home infusion workflows. CURLIN RxManager was developed with extensive input from home infusion pharmacists and is used to easily create facility-specific pump configurations, drug and fluid lists, common protocol templates, clinical advisories, and customized patient specific protocols. These features were designed to put safety and control back in the hands of the pharmacist.
“Infusion pumps are often designed for use in hospitals, and then repurposed for home infusion. This can result in frustrating user experiences and the potential for errors during programming and usage,” said Mike Henderson, Vice President and General Manager of Moog’s Medical Devices division. “The CURLIN 8000 is different as it was designed with a clear focus on our home care customers. This innovative infusion platform was developed through a collaborative effort with home care professionals to ensure that both the CURLIN 8000 pump and CURLIN RxManager software seamlessly integrate with current home care protocols and workflows.”
Following an initial controlled launch at select locations, full U.S. commercial availability is expected in the coming months.
For over 20 years, CURLIN ambulatory infusion pumps by Moog have delivered precise and efficient infusions in a compact and portable size. CURLIN pumps feature a unique curvilinear pumping mechanism, which results in industry-leading flow continuity with precise and steady fluid delivery throughout the entire infusion duration. Additionally, Moog offers unrivaled clinical and customer support to customers and patients 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.
